Rates and Quotes

Ever notice that many web designers and marketing firms in Ottawa don’t publicize hourly rates or project estimates on their websites? It’s part of the age-old, high-pressure sales tactic of getting a potential client in the room, or on the phone, before telling them how much things might cost – harder to say no or change your mind if you’ve spent a half-hour talking with someone, isn’t it?

I’m not a fan of this approach.

Standard hourly and flat rates

My hourly rate is $59 for most services. Flat annual rates are offered for hosting and domain registration services.

Getting together

It is my pleasure to meet with you to discuss your project at no charge, though it’s nice if you buy me a drink while we chat. (Coffee if it’s the morning, beer in the afternoon.) Quotes are also prepared at no cost.

If the scope of a project changes as my work progresses, it is my policy to inform the client of any extra costs to be incurred before I perform the work required.
